A Heartfelt Note from Grammie: Why I’m Lowering All GWOTA Prices (And an Apology)

Dear Caregivers and Homeschooling Families,

When I first set out to build Grammie’s Way of Teaching Academy (GWOTA), my dream was simple: to create a real-world, hands-on learning experience that replaces table tears, workbook burnout, and financial stress with true family discovery.

Today, I want to talk to you directly and openly about a mistake I made along the way—and how I’m making it right.

An Apology for an Oversight

When I was first putting together the shop and calculating costs, I used AI tools to help me establish a pricing guide for our manuals, workshops, and passes. What I didn't realize at the time was that the AI was benchmarking GWOTA against big, traditional curriculum companies—indexing prices to match those expensive, multi-tiered textbook sets that cost families hundreds or even thousands of dollars every year.

When I sat down recently to add everything up and look at the total cost through the eyes of a parent, my heart sank.

I realized that those prices didn't reflect who I am, nor did they reflect the heart of Grammie’s Way. I am so deeply sorry for this oversight. I never intended to offer a curriculum that felt out of reach or burdened family budgets.

Returning to Our True Mission

In our post Why You Don't Need Another Workbook, I wrote about how the traditional textbook industry pushes families into buying stack after stack of grade-specific materials that end up causing daily frustration. GWOTA was built specifically to break that cycle with our Grow-As-You-Go approach—one topic, one purchase, where the entire family learns together across all age levels.

If the goal is to step away from corporate textbook culture, our pricing needs to reflect that same freedom.

What’s Changing Today

I have lowered the prices on everything across our entire shop to a much more reasonable, realistic, and manageable range.

If I were purchasing a curriculum for my own children and grandchildren today, I would want something affordable, high-quality, and fair. By bringing our prices down, my hope is that we can reach so many more children and support families who just want a better, stress-free way to learn together.

Thank you for your grace, your encouragement, and for being part of this community. Let’s keep putting our children and families first!

Blessings to you,

Grammie Em
